Lincoln Young Professionals Group Set to Kick Off Lincoln YP Week

Third Annual Young Lincoln Leader Awards Highlight Annual Spotlight on Lincoln YPs

Lincoln, NE – The contributions made by Lincoln’s young professionals are once again in the forefront next week as Lincoln YP Week begins on Monday, September 26 and runs through Friday, September 30.
This year’s kickoff event features Mike Smith, co-founder and co-executive director of Rabble Mill, and will be held at The Bay (located at 2005 Y Street) from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Monday, September 26. “Kickflips with Mike Smith” will give attendees the opportunity to hear how Smith has helped to develop youth culture across the state and remained wildly passionate about helping young people.
Once again named the best city in the country for young professionals, Lincoln continues to be a destination for young professionals, capturing an energy that gives young people the ability to shape the community they make their living in.

“Our YP Week theme is All Roads Lead to Lincoln, which is a continuation from an amazing project we completed earlier this year with redeveloping a new city flag,” says Bryce Morgan, chair of Lincoln’s Young Professionals Group. “This week focuses on Lincoln and what opportunities it offers to young professionals. We have electric bus tours, professional development classes, family movie night and even pickle ball!”
The signature event of the week is the 3rd Annual Young Lincoln Leader Awards to be held on Thursday, September 29 at Robber’s Cave from 5 – 7 p.m. Individuals between the ages of 21 and 40 were nominated for a YLLA in six categories and organizations were nominated in one category to comprise this year’s list of seven winners.
