Lincoln Young Professionals Group Announces Second Annual Young Lincoln Leader Award Winners
Seven Winners Highlight Signature YP Week Event


Lincoln, NE - Lincoln Young Professionals Group is proud to announce the seven recipients of the 2021 Young Lincoln Leader Awards (YLLA), honoring the outstanding contributions to the Lincoln community. The award ceremony was held on Thursday, September 30 at Pinnacle Bank Arena during YP Week, an annual celebration of young professionals in Lincoln.


Individuals between the ages of 21 and 40 were nominated for a YLLA in six categories and organizations were nominated in one category to comprise this year’s list of seven winners.
 

The 2021 YLLA honorees are:
Young Professional of the Year – Yohance Christie, City of Lincoln
Young Citizen of the Year – Amanda N. Barker, Beehive Industries
Young Entrepreneur of the Year – Alicia Reisinger, Wax Buffalo
Young Nonprofit Professional of the Year – Laura Uridil, Leadership Lincoln
Emerging Leader of the Year – Aakriti Agrawal, Ameritas & Girls Code Lincoln
Next Generation Workplace – Hausmann Construction
Diversity and Inclusive Excellence – Dr. Amanda Irions, Doane University


“The young professionals who call Lincoln home contribute to our City’s growth and success across every industry and organization.” said Brie Frickenstein, Chair of Lincoln Young Professionals Group. “It is an honor to recognize and elevate their successes and the significant work they do make our community a better place to live.”


An external nominating committee of seven leaders in business, nonprofits, and public service assembled to evaluate and select the finalists and winners in the seven categories. The nominating committee consists of Adelle Burke (City of Lincoln-Mayors Office), Liz Ring Carlson (Ameritas), Eric Mooss (Bryan Health), Brian Ardinger (Nelnet), Clover Fredrick (Clover Fredrick), Jasmine Kingsley (HUDL & Past YP of the Year Award Winner) and Kayla Meyer (Lincoln Chamber of Commerce/Lincoln Young Professionals Group) Other events throughout Young Professionals Week included carefully curated speakers, discussion panels, workshops and networking opportunities that celebrate the talent, insight and energy of young professionals in Lincoln, while also exploring the intersection between culture and city.
