YP Champion of the Month: Andrea Wilkins

Tell us about yourself. Where do you work and how long has Lincoln been home?

Lincoln has been home for a little over 10 years. I was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska and moved to Lincoln to attend the University where I graduated with a four-year degree in Business. Lincoln initially served as an avenue to pursue higher education and quickly grew into home for me.  Professionally I spend my time as the Director of Member Services at the Home Builders Association of Lincoln. I serve on the Board of Directors at MilkWorks a non-profit breastfeeding clinic here in Lincoln and in my down time my priority is soaking in time with my family, running and enjoying any activity that allows me to get outdoors.

How or why did you get involved with Lincoln YPG?

I jumped at the opportunity to join Lincoln YPG when I started working for the Home Builders Association of Lincoln at the start of 2016. Professional development is important to me and I believe in the power of building positive relationships with people from different industries. YPG has provided endless opportunities to open my mind and expand on my skills and networks as a young business professional. Our city is constantly changing and Lincoln YPG provides the resources to stay on the cutting edge of it all. I decided to get more involved, in 2017, as a YP Champion so that I can increase my community involvement and experience the success that comes from getting a group of talented business professionals, who are invested in each other’s successes, working together!.

Why do you love Lincoln? What keeps you here? Why did you move here?

The City of Lincoln has provided me with a great education, collaborative business environment for professional advancement and a strong sense of community in a growing economy! Not to mention the city is connected with miles of hiking/biking trails that encourages an active and healthy lifestyle, does it get any better?
